I made these for Valentines Day using a few different cookie brands I had in my pantry, and they turned out SO delicious. You can definitely stick to one type of cookie, like Oreos, but if you have a bunch of cookies lying around that are going to go stale, this is a great way to use them up! I also used both milk and dark chocolate because my husband is not a fan of dark chocolate. You can use white chocolate and food coloring to make them pink or any other color. And this recipe is so easy, it is literally 3 ingredients!

Ingredients
1 package of cookies, Oreos, Chips Ahoy, or other brand
8 ounce block of cream cheese, softened
16 ounces melting chocolate
Directions
- In a food processor, pulse cookies until fine, almost like a powder.
- Add cream cheese and using hands, work cream cheese into cookies. You may need to create a big cookie ball first to make sure everything is mixed, and then break that up into smaller balls.
- Once cream cheese is mixed into cookies, divide into 15 equal sized balls. Feel free to use a cookie dough or ice cream scoop. Lay balls on a tray and freeze for 30 minutes.
- Melt chocolate using the double boiler method. Heat about an inch or two of water in a saucepan over high heat. Place a glass bowl on top of saucepan and place chocolate inside bowl. Melt chocolate, constantly stirring.
- Add cookie balls to melted chocolate, rolling in the chocolate to coat. You can use a fork or spoon to make sure the cookie ball is evenly coated in the chocolate.
- Set chocolate covered cookie ball on wax paper lined cookie sheet to set while you finish the rest of the cookie balls.
- The chocolate should set pretty fast, and should be ready to eat by the time you are done with the whole batch. If not, you might need to refrigerate for the chocolate to set up before eating.
- Enjoy!
Tips:
- Cream cheese is best at room temperature, so make sure to leave it out for about an hour before starting.
- Feel free to use whatever cookies you like! I used a few different brands because that is what I had, but you can definitely use whatever you like!
- Feel free to use whatever chocolate you like! Most grocery stores sell all types of melting chocolate including white, milk, and dark. I used both milk and dark chocolate so once I was done with one, I cleaned the bowl and dried it and melted the next chocolate.
- It is really important when melting chocolate, to keep stirring and to not add any water to the chocolate. Water will cause the chocolate to seize up.
- You could also microwave the chocolate – just make sure to heat in increments and keep checking and stirring the chocolate.
- I also melted peppermint chocolate and drizzled over the balls to create another layer of flavor. You could do this with white chocolate to create another color palette, or another flavor of chocolate! The possibilities are endless here!
- Store these in the fridge for best results!
